Words words words
My head screams in silence
Sounds of music soothe me
But the night demands the quiet
My mind reels from nighttime reading
Searching for answers in visual cues
The photos lure me as they see me
The screen blinks in shadowy hues
Counting down to the first light of dawn
As the world awakens in a gradual shift
The weakness of the night reveals what is strong
And my worries and fears are set free to drift
This is what happens when you get a new kitten – lol! The oldest cat loves to sing, especially into the microphone, and has already left his vocals on this track in progress. Now the new kitten (shown in the video) is fascinated with Push2 and Ableton Live.
I’m calling it “Screamie and the Cats.” Check it out on YouTube.
Steven Pressfield says in his “Put Your Ass Where Your Heart Wants to Be” series on Instagram, that you should move to where your dream can come true. I’m assuming he thinks this is still true even in this online age.*
The coolest thing about FAWM is the community of fascinating and talented musicians of multiple genres from all over the world. They’ve generously invited me into their world and I’m honored to be counted as one of them, striving to be worthy.
The most talented, in my mind, goes by the name of “Wolf” and has put together an awesome track that will blow your mind, and I don’t use that phrase loosely. He was our “cruise director” for this mishmash of talent, creating and coordinating the birthday party of the century, Bertha’s 60th. Happy birthday, Bertha!
You might find me sprinkled throughout, but I’m the most proud of being called the “DJ” under the name of SBS2018.
Catch a sneak peek by Wolf, whose vocals I absolutely love (David Bowie, right?, followed by the full track available on Bandcamp.
Please like, share, download, and tell your friends (and I never say that either). But I would love for these people to be recognized for their talent, individually and as collaborators.
FAWM 2022 is over and I exceeded the 14 songs by 1 – lol!
I’ve compiled them into an album on BandCamp just to show my accomplishment. I wanted to get this done before my new iMac with the M1 chip arrives. Yes!
All of these were created using Logic Pro except for the last one, which was created on my new iPad Pro (M1) after my old iMac pretty much died. It’s a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to genre, but I think it shows my growth. I’m looking forward to pursuing yet another direction in 50/90.
FAWM (February Album Writing Month) 2022 begins in 10-11 days and I find myself jotting down my song ideas in poetic/lyrical fashion. Well, just this one, so far. I’ve been worried that I haven’t been that inspired lately, still a bit burned out after writing 60 songs for 50/90 last summer, but maybe this one will kickstart more to come.
“Silence of the Night”
In the silence of the night I seek you
The lonely car shines the light
Bringing you into view
Funny how tires on a road
Trigger the truth I already know
That in the silence of the night I hear you
